Greek Women in STEM is an initiative represented and supported by IVunited for a bit over a year now. Together we have worked hard in order to give a valuable platform to women in STEM fields (sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine).

This October, Greek Women in STEM will be leading their very first international symposium called WOMEN+. It will be featuring three days of talks, presentations and awards.
The Greek Women in STEM team has joined forces with R.E.A.L. Science, Greek Girls Code and Lean In Greece as well as their sponsors in order to make this event happen.

Lina, the founder of Greek Women in STEM explains “Our goal is to bring together Greek scientists working in Greece and abroad and to promote their work to the general public. Through interactive sessions and scientific panels with experts in biomedical sciences, physics, chemistry, engineering, technology, and related fields, we aim to promote networking and interdisciplinary collaborations, as well as to communicate scientific achievements to the public. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the STEM disciplines and their applications, as well as the different career paths they can choose in each field.” 

Keep in mind that the event will also grant five awards to women in STEM, more specifically early career awards in the fields of technology, biosciences, physics, mathematics and engineering. To apply or nominate someone, head here.
